Amateur Mixology #2 – Extra Dirty Chai

Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 presetOur take on the Dirty Chai doesn’t actually involve any espresso…but instead we used a buncha liquor.

IMG_7291For this recipe, all you need is:
1 cup to 1 1/4 cup of Milk (I personally only ever use Coconut Milk but whatever kind is fine) (The amount of milk you need depends on how large the glass you’re using is, I’d say aim for about 3/5 of your glass to be milk)
1/2 cup to 1 cup of Chai Concentrate (again, the amount depends on how large your glass is, you need about half as much concentrate as you used of the milk. I find it easiest to eyeball this)
2 oz of Amaretto (this can also be adjusted to taste, but I pretty much always do 2 oz pours)
Sugar and Cinnamon (to rim the glass)
Mint (optional)

This is fairly simple. Place a fair amount of sugar and cinnamon in a dish and line your glass. I just put a tiiiny bit of water on the rim beforehand because I didn’t want to use a lemon but this is up to you. After the glass has been rimmed, fill the glass with milk as desired and then follow with about half as much chai concentrate. Mix this together so the concentrate is distributed. Add your Amaretto and voila! I also added a bit of cinnamon on top and a few mint leaves for taste and aesthetic…ha.

I think this would also taste really good (probably even better) if you used regular milk or almond milk, especially if you aren’t crazy about the taste of coconut milk.

Also… I added a biiiit of Rum to make it a bit stronger but this is also up to taste. I think it was good this way but ya know, up to you!
